The city of Cape Coral
... is located in Lee county, in the South-West of Florida, directly onto the Gulf of Mexico. It was built in the 50's and is now described as America's Venice.
Cape Coral is crossed by more than 650 km long artificial canals (salt and fresh water). The offshore islands Sanibel, Captiva, and Pine Island, with their kilometer long white sandy beaches, are ideal for excursions. They can be reached by boat as well as by car. Dolphins often accompany you during boat tours, but you can also observe pelicans, herons, etc. at close range.
All famous attractions, such as Walt Disney World, Bush Gardens, Sea World, Kennedy Space Center, Everglades are possible daily excursions.
